The Story So Far...
- The Harbour Project is a voluntary
organisation funded by Swindon Borough Council & the Big Lottery Fund (check
here for more details)
- It was established in May 2000 at
the time of the Kosovo crisis by local people who wanted to offer a friendly
welcome and practical support to those seeking refuge in the town
- 5 years on - it became a registered
charity, and employed a worker to co-ordinate its work
- In May 2005 a grant from the Big
Lottery Fund enabled the project to develop its work - an office has been
established, administrator employed and there are now plans to expand the
current services provided by the volunteers
